About the event
Join author, survivor, and advocate Shannon Brown as she returns to Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence's Through the Eyes of Survivors Podcast for a powerful conversation about survival, resilience, storytelling, and finding the courage to reclaim your voice.
As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to a close, Shannon will discuss her newest book, Because of Maddie: The Girl Who Said, "ENOUGH", the highly anticipated continuation of her International Impact Book Award-winning debut, Because of Jane.
Inspired by true events, Because of Maddie explores the complexities of childhood abuse, adolescence, coercive control, and the lasting impact of trauma. At its heart is a young girl's journey toward finding her voice and discovering the strength to finally say ENOUGH!
During this conversation, Shannon will share insights into her writing journey, the importance of survivor-centered storytelling, and how literature can help raise awareness, challenge silence, and remind survivors that they are not alone.
